Start with the documented color character
White Down is a creamy off-white. Temperature is a useful description, but neighboring materials can change the impression. White Down has more color depth than Ivory White, useful when a very light cream fails to frame warm stone.
Limestone's broad background should guide the white choice; isolated veins and small linen samples can otherwise distract from the permanent surface.
Use Soft Chamois as a control
Put White Down directly against the whitest permanent surface and then against the warmest one. If those two boundaries disagree, decide which surface controls the project. The word warm cannot reconcile every ivory cabinet with every white stone, and a cooler label does not automatically imply an unsuitable room.
